Two Charged With Murder In Shooting Death Of Tulsa Girl
TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa County prosecutors charged two men with first-degree murder and attempted robbery with a firearm in connection with the shooting death of a 14-year-old Tulsa girl in May.
David Ruble II, 19, and Demonte Rushing, 21, were arrested by Tulsa Police for the fatal shooting of April Montano. She was a passenger in a pickup traveling on the Gilcrease Expressway when she was shot in the head on May 29, 2014.
Police believe robbery was the motive for the shooting. They say Ruble wanted to steal the family's truck and trailer full of ATVs. Police said officers recovered a .40-caliber handgun along the route Ruble drove the night of the murder. They said the shell casings found at the scene of the shooting also were .40 caliber.
Jail records show are both men are being held without bond pending a June 30, 2014 court date.
