Tulsa Police are looking for the driver of a pickup that hit a construction worker in east Tulsa Saturday night.

Police say the worker was directing traffic at about 11 p.m. at 11th and Lynn Lane on Saturday, June 21, 2014, when the pickup hit her.

Witnesses said the truck stopped a few feet away, the driver got out and walked toward the worker then got back in the truck and sped off.

EMSA took the 29-year-old woman to St. Francis Hospital in serious condition. Police said she had broken bones and cuts on her arms and legs.

John Kramer lives right off Lynn Lane and said he heard an extremely loud noise. He thought a transformer blew.

"I heard a gentleman yell, 'stop that truck,' and when I got up there I noticed that the lady that was flagging traffic had been hit and flown about 20 feet," Kramer said.

The pickup driver is nowhere to be found. Police say witnesses told them the driver stopped, got out of his truck, and looked at the injured woman. He then got back in his truck and sped away.

"If you hit this girl, please turn yourself in," Kramer said. "That's all we can ask."

Kramer said the young woman was very visible, but it highlights the dangers that come with working in construction zones - even when workers are doing everything by the book.

He said he stood along the road directing traffic for the workers because the city didn't put another worker out there.

Police are looking for a dark-colored Ford F-150 truck. If you know anything about the incident or the truck you can call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
