Muskogee Police Release Names Involved In Officer-Involved Shooting

The Muskogee Police Department released names involved an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night.

Muskogee Police were called around 8:30 p.m. about a fight between three people in a car near 30th Street and Boston Street. Police said Angel Cerda had a knife and stabbed Ceasar Pena in the back of the neck.

Officers said when they arrived Cerda got out of the car, stabbed himself then headed for police. That’s when police say Officer Chancey McMillin shot Cerda.

Both Cerda and Pena were taken to the hospital. Police said Cerda is in good condition. They also said Pena’s condition is unknown but his wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officials said Officer Nick Ford and K-9 Officer Jason Steele were also at the scene. They said all three officers are on routine administrative leave.
