A Tulsa convenience store clerk was shot by an armed robber on Saturday morning, police say.

A customer entered the Corner Check Out at Pine and Yorktown store to find the 28-year-old on the floor with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, so he called 911, according to TPD Sgt. Tom Bell.

The clerk said a man wearing a mask shot him and took an undisclosed amount of money. The store was open at the time, but there were no other witnesses.

The clerk was transported to a local hospital just before 7:30 a.m., but police weren’t sure right away how long he was on the floor before he was discovered. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, EMSA said.

Police said they have little suspect description, but he is described as a black male wearing a purple hoodie, green pants and dark-colored slip-on shoes.

If you have any information about this shooting, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
