Green Country's amazing and unseasonably cooler weather has brought plenty of folks outside. Over the next few days, we'll enjoy high temperatures that we usually see in mid May or late September.

All across the area, few people are complaining about the weather. From driving golf balls to driving nails, those that have a chance to be outside and those who don't are enjoying a break from Oklahoma's usually hot weather.

"This is gorgeous weather; can't ask for nicer weather than this," said golfer Chuck Perry.

With the high expected to be 13 degrees cooler than normal for mid July, many people are taking advantage of the break.

"About like Alaska, really," said Al Merritt of Bill Haynes Siding. "If it stayed like this, I wouldn't have no complaints."

Last year on this date, it was also cool, but it was raining that day. Even including last year, the high temperatures in Tulsa on this day over the past five years is 97 degrees.

So an 80-degree day is welcome.

"I love it," said Doris Schmidt, Tulsa resident. "I like Oklahoma, but the summers are too hot."

John Koehn and Chuck Perry are practicing a few putts before enjoying a round of golf.

"Wonderful, this weather is wonderful," Koehn said.

Natalie Nelson is among those enjoying the Tulsa Zoo and making the most of a beautiful day in July. Pushing a stroller this time of year usually can be a tiring task, but not right now.

"This is amazing," Nelson said. "I can't believe it's July right now. It just feels so good out there."

The zoo animals are more active when it's not as hot, and it seems many people are too, realizing the heat of August will be here soon enough.

If you enjoy the cooler temperatures, we're in for even cooler weather. We could even set a a record low, high temperature on Thursday.
