Academy Sports Gives Shopping Spree To Boys And Girls Club Kids

Academy Sports treated 30 children from the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Tulsa to a back-to-school shopping spree.

Each kid shopper got a hundred dollar gift card to spend on school supplies and new school uniforms.

Employees from Academy helped the kids and their parents navigate the aisles, pick out new backpacks, find a new pair of shoes or find the uniform they need for school.

Store Director, Kim Geihsler, said, "It's rewarding for them to help them out and see those smiles on their faces just knowing that maybe they wouldn't get those items if it wouldn't be for us helping them out."

This is the fifth year for the shopping spree.

Academy also said its gearing up for this weekend's sales tax holiday.
