Muskogee County Emergency Management has two water tanks on trailers stationed in Boynton since Wednesday after community officials notified them their water tower supply was dry due to a water line break.

Management director Jeff Smith says the two 500-gallon tanks, one with potable water are being refilled by the city of Haskell.  He said a Muskogee County business has donated bottles of water for residents to use until the line was repaired.

A person who answered the phone at Boynton City Hall said there was no water due to the broken line and did not know how many customers were impacted. They also didn’t know when the line would be repaired and service restored.

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality says Boynton issued a voluntary boil order, adding the town has encouraged residents to boil the water once service is restored.
