City of Tulsa says workers have finished repairs to a broken 12-inch water line at 41st and Memorial, but another broken line across town is still underway.

Officials said a 16-inch line at 22nd and Jackson broke Wednesday morning.  The city said initially it was an eight-inch line, but they later determined it was a 16-inch line and that the break was much closer to 23rd and Jackson.

Officials say the 41st and Memorial break had impacted about 10 businesses. The break at 22nd and Jackson closed Jackson in both directions for a short time and impacted two nearby businesses. Water from the break flooded the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex.

Repair work on that line is expected to be completed by Thursday morning.

City of Tulsa spokesperson Michelle Allen said so far this year, water usage and water line breaks have been well below the five-year average.

For July, the average water usage was 123 million gallons per day, compared to the five-year average of 151 million gallons per day.  She said water department employees have responded to 55 waterline breaks in July compared to the five-year average of 161.
