Charles Owens had a rodeo accident five years ago that caused a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the neck down.

As he re-learned many of life's basic skills in rehab, Owens remained committed to the sport that put him in a wheel chair and has gone to as many as 30 rodeos in just the past year.

He takes care of his horses, coaches a youth rodeo team, and is even getting his twin five-year-olds involved in his passion for the sport.

Thursday was extra special for Owens and his boys because they got to meet PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney at the Center for Individuals With Physical Challenges where Owens goes for rehab.

"This like the NFL coming to Tulsa, and it's the best bull rider too,” Owens said.

The PBR caught wind of Owens’ story and arranged the meeting and a tour of the facility.
