Cooler weather is on the way for eastern Oklahoma if only for a day or two.
News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says the forecast is for another hot day Wednesday but by Friday and Saturday the temperature will only climb into the mid 80's. He says the reason is a storm system moving out of the Rockies into the plains.
That system will also raise the chance of showers starting late Thursday into Saturday for much of eastern Oklahoma.
Crone says by Saturday evening the system will have moved into Arkansas and warmer and dryer air will return for the rest of the Labor Day weekend. On Monday he says it will be hot and dry with highs in the mid 90's across eastern Oklahoma.
