Tulsa Police Identify Three In Officer-Involved Shooting

The Tulsa Police Department has released the identities of the police officers involved in the Tuesday fatality shooting on North Gilcrease Museum Road.

According to a TPD spokesperson, the three who shot and killed Mark Allen Kelley, 45, as he reportedly charged them with an 8-inch knife.

• Officer Amy Jensen, 25. Date of Hire: 07-02-2012
• Officer Mitchell Franklin, 44. Date of Hire: 08-01-2006
• Officer Rashena Smith, 26.. Date of Hire: 07-02-2012

Police responded to a self-inflicted stab wound at a residence about 4:30 a.m. As they arrived, Kelley was standing in the driveway holding the knife, and police said he refused repeated commands to drop it, then he approached the officers. 

Three of them opened fire, striking Kelley several times.

The three officers are on routine leave during the investigation.
