Police Arrest Tulsa Teen Connected To Car Burglaries

Tulsa Police arrested a teenager late Tuesday after stopping his vehicle and finding a car stereo he reportedly stole in the front seat.

Tulsa Police arrested a teenager late Tuesday after stopping his vehicle and finding a car stereo he reportedly stole in the front seat. 

Officers stopped 18-year-old David Montoya's vehicle near 41st and I-44 at about 8:20 p.m. after a witness told police a man driving the vehicle had broken into two cars. 

A police report stated after he was questioned Montoya admitted to breaking into at least three vehicles and stealing the stereo. 

Officers searched Montoya and found a marijuana and Xanax. The officer stated in the report Montoya did not have a prescripton for the medication. 

David Montoya was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a number of complaints including burglary of vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and DUI. Jail records show he has a court appearance set for September 12, 2014.
