Tulsa's Habitat Restore Holds Big Sale After Big Donation

The Habitat Restore gets a lot of donations they resell, but a huge donation has forced them to mark things down for a big sale.

The Habitat for Humanity Restore is filled with everything you could imagine that could come out of, or go into, a building.

It ranges from new to well-used, but everything they have has some life left in it.

"We get things from hotels, stores, schools, and people who are buying new furniture, new appliances,” said Jane Dunbar with Habitat for Humanity.

They've got almost an acre of warehouse space under one roof and more room outside, but even with all that room, a recent donation left the Restore overloaded with appliances.

"We've had a donation and we're excited because everything we make in the Restore goes into building homes, so it helps local families,” Dunbar said.

Habitat had a single donor give them 300 sets of refrigerators and ranges, both gas and electric.

Right now they're all $125 and up, but Saturday they'll all be $99 or less.

"That's what we're focusing on, ranges and refrigerators Saturday. None of those will be more than $99,” Dunbar said.

They all work, though some look better than others.

Though the sales floor has a large, but limited number, there are plenty more.

"We don't normally have this quantity, so when we have this quantity, we need the warehouse space, we need to move it out,” said Dunbar.

The Restore has lots of other things too - chairs, windows, cabinets, countertops, doors, floors and lighting - but they'll be at regular price.

Right now it's appliances that have to go.

"And it varies, we get donations, so it changes, every day,” said Dunbar.

The sale is this Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 13th and South Norwood, a couple blocks from Sheridan.

All the profits go to build houses.
