The Tulsa State Fair opens Thursday and food is always one of the main attractions, but before the any food vendors can serve you that food, they have to be inspected.

The Tulsa County Health Department says those inspections will take place Wednesday. Inspectors will start their rounds of the county fairgrounds by meeting with vendors and give them information about any health code violations.

Environmental Public Health Division Chief Elizabeth Nutt says 99 percent of the violations inspectors see are fixable and will allow vendors to continue selling food. Nutt says the biggest problem comes when vendors simply can't meet the requirements, or refuse to - which is rare.

The Tulsa Health Department says fairgoers can report potential violations by calling them at 918-595-4300 or going to their web site and filling out a complaint form.
