Tulsa City Councilor Karen Gilbert was also there to praise the teachers' and students' achievements.

Discovery School's principal, Maureen Brown, said teamwork is the key to success.

"We have a small learning environment, very caring teachers, dedicated staff members, parents who support their children and hardworking students,” Brown said.

Discovery School is a college preparatory public charter school that focuses on math, science, and computers.
