A World War II veteran and a veteran's advocate hit the road from the VFW post near 6th and Peoria Friday morning in a 1937 Chevy.

David Rule owns the classic car and he plans to raise money along the way for various veterans organizations.

Rule's aunt and uncle bought the car 77 years ago in Iola, Kansas. He's driving it back to the dealership where it was bought and then back to Tulsa.

“It'll probably make it, I don't know about me, but that car's gonna make it. 340 miles up there and back,” Rule said.

Jim Deer, the World War II vet, said he'll stay along for a little bit of the ride.
