There are lots of things to be thankful for this holiday season. One Jenks family is especially thankful for their kids, and the skillful way they handled an emergency involving their brother.

David and Stacy Sexton said their kids saved the day.

Elijah is 12 and he has Cerebral Palsy and occasionally has a frightening convulsing seizure.

"It's happened twice this year, that we've actually had to call 911," Stacy said.

The seizures can deprive the brain of oxygen, so quick reactions are essential.

Stacy and David were at church arranging for her dad's funeral and Elijah was home with 14-year-old Bailie, her friend Gracie and little sis Dacie, when he developed another seizure.

"So me and her called 911 and my sister called my mom and dad," Bailie said.

Dacie also called some family friends who know of Elijah's condition. They got the ball rolling quickly and calmly, and when Jenks fire and emergency crews arrived, the girls handled that too.

"They asked if he had his medicine, they asked how long he was doing it for," Bailie said.

The girls really know their stuff.

"They know what to look for, they know what to do," Stacy said.

She and David are as proud as they can be.

The emergency and medical professionals involved praised how the girls stayed calm and had all the information necessary to make sure Elijah was safe.
