OHP: McAlester Teen Dies From Injuries Sustained In Pittsburg County Crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a McAlester teen injured in a two vehicle crash on Highway 270 in Pittsburg County Wednesday afternoon has died.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a McAlester teen injured in a two vehicle crash on Highway 270 in Pittsburg County Wednesday afternoon has died.

Troopers said the crash occurred at 1:46 p.m. 

The OHP says a 1996 Nissan driven by Joseph Schoggins was headed east on Highway 270 when he crossed the center line, overcorrected twice causing the car to slide into a westbound 2011 Toyota.

Schoggins was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was pronounced dead Thursday.

Four people in the 2011 Toyota were taken to a McAlester hospital. 

The OHP says the driver James Hazeldine, 67, of Norman and three passengers, Robert Jackson, 67, of Statesboro, Georgia, Betty Snow, 68, of Norman and Mary Hazeldine, 65, of Statesboro, Georgia were all treated and released.
