Southeastern Oklahoma Grass Fire Affects Power Lines

At one time, more than 4,000 PSO customers were without power. Crews have been working for hours and at 10 p.m. they had knocked the number down to about 1,000 outages.

A Saturday grass fire near Whitefield has affected electric lines in Haskell and Pittsburg Counties.

The Public Service Company of Oklahoma spokesperson said the fire, which began about 7 p.m., also caused PSO's Stigler PSO substation to go down.

At one time, more than 4,000 PSO customers were without power. Crews have been working for hours and at 10 p.m. they had knocked the number down to about 1,000 outages.

Other outages are small and serviced by city utility providers.
