Three University of Tulsa players earned all-conference recognition as the American Athletic Conference announced the award winners on Wednesday, as voted on by the league's coaches. Receiver Keevan Lucas and defensive end Derrick Alexander earned second team accolades, while punter Dalton Parks was an honorable mention selection.

Lucas, a 5-foot-10 sophomore from Abilene, Texas, was the American Athletic Conference's second-leading receiver and also ranked second for all-purpose yards. He totaled 1,219 yards and a league-high 11 receiving touchdowns on 101 receptions. Lucas totaled 1,285 all-purpose yards for the Hurricane.

He is among the NCAA leaders in four national receiving categories, and is only second to one of the American's first-team selections, Justin Hardy, for receptions per game (4th), receiving yards (11th) and receiving yards per game (12th). Lucas is tops among all American Athletic Conference receivers for receiving TDs, as he ranks eighth in the NCAA statistics.

Lucas ranks 6th on the school's single-season receiving list with his 1,219 yards and his 101 receptions is the third-most for a single season in school history, behind 134 by Howard Twilley (1965) and Chris Penn's 105 catches (1993). Lucas had five 100-yard receiving games this year and had a career-best 233-yard performance with three TDs in the season opener vs. Tulane, the most yards for a Tulsa receiver since the 2008 season.

Alexander, a 6-foot-2 junior defensive end, totaled 42 tackles, including 12 stops for -72 yards and 7.5 sacks for -58 yards. He also was credited with five quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles. The product of Tulsa's Booker T. Washington High School ranked second in the American Athletic Conference for sacks and fifth for tackles for lost yardage. Alexander's sack total also ranks 43rd nationally.

Parks, a former walk-on from Kansas City, Mo., punted 70 times and averages 42.0 yards as a true sophomore. He had 14 punts travel at least 50 yards with a career-high 67-yarder against East Carolina. Parks also punted 20 times inside the 20-yard line and had 22 punts fair caught.

The punter ranks 48th nationally for punting and the Hurricane team is ranked 36th nationally for net punting.
