Skiatook High School's senior running back is this year's Bob Hurley Athlete of the Year.
Monday night 12 of Green Country's finest athletes were honored, but it was Skiatook's Kyle McLaughlin that took the honor.
On November 3rd, the senior running back had 34 carries for 203 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-24 win over Bishop Kelley.
During the 12-plus-week journey to the Athlete of the Year award, we saw outstanding plays, big wins, some tough losses and down-to-the-wire games that all made 2014 another great year of high school football.
Individually, they stood out against the competition and rose to the top; and Monday each athlete was recognized for his hard work, dedication and outstanding performances over the season.
“These young men stand out not only on the field, with outstanding performances night-in and night-out, but also as leaders for their teams and peers,” said News On 6 Sports Director, John Holcomb.
