Texas ties have proved to be beneficial once again for the University of Tulsa's football team.

Heavily recruited Temple Texas quarterback Chad President decommitted from Baylor, and commited to TU on Christmas day.

TU's new head coach Philip Montgomery helped recruit President while working on Baylor's coaching staff. The 6'3, 195 pound senior was initially adamant about his commitment to Baylor, but backed out of it this past Tuesday. “I want to thank Baylor University for giving me the opportunity to play football, and get my degree from there,” President said. “But, I have officially decommitted from Baylor and opened back up my recruitment. Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way.”

According to Rivals.com, President is the ninth ranked dual quarterback coming out of the class of 2015. President will be quite the present for TU, if he produces the same kind of numbers he did in high school, passing for 1,781 yards, 128 completions, and 22 touchdowns his senior year (according to MaxPreps). He helped his team gain an overall record of 13-2, and a 6-0 record in league play.

President has received a lot of support on social media. Numerous people congratulated the future Golden Hurricane quarterback on Twitter. Future TU wide receiver Jarion Anderson is excited about his new teammate. “We [have] picked up one of the Top QB's in 2015!!! I'm turnt right now! Welcome to the family my boy,” Anderson tweeted.

President is the 10th Tulsa pledge from the class of 2015. TU ranked 112 in the country and 11th in the American Athletic Conference prior to his commitment. The future Tulsa player seems excited about his upcoming school. "Let's ride!!! Tulsa it is!!!! Oklahoma here I come," he tweeted.

With the changes TU's football program has recently made, the Golden Hurricane now look ready for competition.
