Owasso Police are investigating to learn if three car thefts Sunday are related. Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff said one person has been detained in connection to the stolen cars.

One vehicle - a Cadillac Escalade - was stolen at gunpoint at an Owasso home.

Police were first alerted to a suspicious person in a vehicle at the CVS Pharmacy at 86th Street North and 129th East Avenue at around 11 a.m. Officers took Matthew Shaw Winchester, 32, of Tulsa, into custody after learning the car was stolen, Woodruff said.

"It was not determined if another person was also in the vehicle prior to the officers' arrival," Woodruff said.

About 30 minutes later, they received a report of a Camaro stolen from the Hale Acres Mobile Home Park near 116th East Avenue and Garnett. Police found that car broken down.

"The victim reported that the vehicle had mechanical problems and could only operate at slow speeds," Woodruff said in a news release.

Woodruff said a man coming home a little while later found an armed man in his driveway in the 10300 block of East 89th Street North. The man produced a pistol and took the victim's 2008 Cadillac Escalade.

The vehicle has dealer tags.

Woodruff said police are working to learn if the same man was responsible for the abandoned Camaro and the stolen Escalade. The two locations are nearby and the suspect in both was described as a white or Hispanic male.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Owasso Police at 918-272-2244.
