It's already been a busy night for Tulsa police, and they expect it to get busier. It started early Wednesday afternoon with a hit-and-run crash that has a driver in jail on complaints of DUI and child endangerment.

People are partying all over Tulsa to ring in the New Year. A lot of the party-goers are drinking, and will need to find a ride home.

Fortunately, there are a lot of options.

Tulsa police already worked a major accident this New Year's Eve.

"Typically we don't see accidents like that until later in the evening on New Year's Eve," said Tulsa Police Sergeant, Kert Dodd.

Police said Megan Fowler hit a car at 67th & Lewis, then, drove off to 61st Street, where she hit two more cars - all with three children inside, none wearing seat belts.

"There was no car seat and the kids appeared to be unsecured," Dodd said.

He said Fowler got combative and assaulted a police officer and a firefighter; she was arrested and booked for DUI.

Thankfully there were no major injuries and police hope to keep it that way this New Year's Eve.

To avoid an accident, AAA is, again, offering Tipsy Tow.

Tipsy Tow will take you and your car home, at no charge and no questions asked, in the Tulsa metro area, Bartlesville, Muskogee and Tahlequah.

To use that service you can call l-800-AAA-HELP.

New this year, the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration has developed an app, called SaferRide.

The app can help you get a taxi, call a friend, or simply tell you where you are.

If you want to get a taxi in Tulsa, there are several traditional cab companies, as well as tech-taxis, like Lyft and Uber.

According to Uber, the busiest time to get a cab on New Year's Eve is between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.

Tech-taxi companies surge prices on New Year's Eve.

If there is a surge in price, Uber will notify you before you accept the ride.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving suggests, if you're hosting a party, have the number of a taxi service on hand or offer your couch to your guests.
