Investigators are looking to the public to help solve a 34-year-old cold case murder of a Moore woman. And they hope new evidence might help them solve the case.

Tracey Neilson was found stabbed to death in her apartment at the Jamestown Square apartment complex on her 21st birthday back on Jan. 5, 1981.

Friends and family members reported seeing Tracey alive that morning, but by noon no one had seen or heard from her. Her husband came home at 5 p.m. and discovered her body.

Now new evidence shows a cable repairman, or at least someone posing as one, may have visited her apartment around the time she was last heard from.

A “Cable Trouble Assignment Ticket Book” was discovered at the scene and had Nielson's address as the last ticket assigned; scheduled to be at the apartment at 11:51 a.m. that day.

Scrawled on the line for the employee's signature are three letters, possibly the initials of the person who last saw Neilson alive. The ticket book was generic and did not have on it a company's name.

Investigators hope that someone will recognize the signature on the book and lead investigators to the possible culprit of the crime.

Anyone with information is asked to call the OSBI tip line at (800) 522-8017. The OSBI is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that could lead to an arrest in this crime. The Moore Police Department has offered up $1,000 in reward money and the NieNeilsonmily has contributed $5,000 of their own, bringing the total to $11,000.
