10-Game Winning Streak: Tulsa Beats Tulane 62-55

The TU men's basketball team took on Tulane Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Golden Hurricane beat the Green Wave 62-55, winning its 10th straight game and remaining undefeated in conference (8-0).

Tulsa took an early lead, outscoring Tulane 10-5 within the first six minutes of the game.

Mid-way through the first half, TU's leading scorer Shaquille Harrison punched it for two, extending the Golden Hurricane lead 13-9.

The Green Wave didn't settle to stay behind, taking a one-point lead with a jumper from Keith Pinckney (16-15 at the 7:19 mark).

Tulane continued to escalate its lead, but Tulsa stayed close range, (disallowing the Green Wave to extend its lead more than a few points).

With 3:29 before the half, Rashad Ray seemed to be feeling good playing in his hometown, knocking down a pair of threes to help TU regain its lead.

TU's 8-0 run gave the team a 27-20 advantage over Tulane going into halftime.

At this point, D'Andre Wright led TU in scoring with ten points; Harrison trailed him with eight. Dylan Osetkowski led Tulane in scoring with seven.

The Golden Hurricane managed to hold onto its lead in the opening minutes of the final half. With 13:31 on the clock, TU led 35-28 after two back-to-back dunks from Brandon Swannegan and TK Edogi.

Tulsa continued to control the game, leading 40-30 after Marquel Curtis sank a two-pointer at the 11 minute mark.

TU kept up its momentum, and finished with a 62-55 win over Tulane.

Harrison led Tulsa in scoring with 16 points; Payton Henson led the Green Wave with 12.

TU returns to action Saturday, January 31, against USF. Tip-off is scheduled for noon in the Reynolds Center.
