Volunteer firefighters in Creek County spent several hours late Wednesday attempting to put out a large fire that may have been intentionally set southeast of Mannford.

Firefighters from the Keystone Fire Department say they will be back Thursday to continue to fight the fire near West 71st Street South and 241st West Avenue.

Firefighters said they responded to a "good sized grass fire" just after 9:30 p.m. They said the fire is in an area which has a lot of trees, but is away from any homes. So far, they report no structures have burned.

Firefighters said they are not sure who would have set this fire or why.
