Tulsa firefighters rescued a man from a van that crashed head on into a utility pole Sunday morning. Police say alcohol may have played a role in the wreck.

Tulsa firefighters rescued a man from a van that crashed head on into a utility pole Sunday morning. Authorities say the driver was northbound in the 2600 block of South Garnett when the van crossed over southbound lanes and smashed into the pole.

Firefighters

pried the driver's side door open to free the man from the vehicle.

It's believed he had a broken leg and other injuries, though he was conscious as EMSA took him to the hospital.

Tulsa Police say alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
