A winter weather advisory expired at 11 a.m. for most of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, but the Oklahoma Department of Transportation warns motorists to continue to drive cautiously.

Main roadways in Green Country are largely clear, though county and neighborhood roads are still impacted by two days of snow and freezing rain.

Roads began to refreeze after sundown on Sunday night.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said in an 11 a.m. update that highways and interstates continue to improve, but crews will also continue to sand and salt the roads until they are clear and dry.

"The Tulsa area and far northeastern Oklahoma roadways are slick and hazardous after this morning's continued freezing drizzle from the state line south to I-40. Crews are treating slick spots on highways and bridges across several counties in this area and will do so for as long as conditions warrant," the update states.

"Black ice conditions exist statewide, meaning roadways may look clear but have icy spots that are extremely hazardous. Even if highways look dry, motorists are urged to take it slow due to these conditions."
