A stolen Sand Springs church school bus was wrecked and destroyed by fire early Sunday. Deputy Chief of Police Mike Carter said the bus was found crashed into a tree at about 2:45 a.m. in the 3800 block of South 137th West Avenue.

The bus belonged to Lake Country Christian School in Sand Springs.

"We talked to the owner of the school, and she did confirm it was stolen," Carter said Sunday.

His officers located a teenage male suspect who was turned over to Tulsa County Sheriff's Office which is investigating the incident.

The bus, which was crashed on a snowy rural road, was a total loss. Carter didn't know if the juvenile male suspect was injured.
