Traffic Stop Turns Deadly Near Calvin

An Oklahoma Highway Trooper says a man pulled a gun to shoot him but then turned it on himself.

The incident took place a little before 1:00 a.m, Saturday morning. A trooper stopped at vehicle at Highway 1 and Highway 270 near Calvin. As the trooper approached the passenger side of the vehicle, the driver pulled out a gun and fired shots, missing the trooper.

The trooper made it back to his vehicle as he returned fire. Then, the driver stepped out of his vehicle and shot himself. He died at the scene.
