Troopers say a distracted driver caused a wreck in a Caddo County construction zone just before 1 p.m. Saturday. Three vehicles were involved in the collision that injured three - including a 5-year-old child.

OHP says Yukon resident Albert Wagner, driving a van, stopped as traffic merged for the workzone on Interstate 40 at mile marker 103.

Ronald Dalrymple of Ardmore was "distracted by his electronic communication device," looked up and tried to avoid hitting the van. He swerved into a four-door Ford driven by an Indiana woman, a collision report shows.

Dalrymple, 75, was pulling a flat-bed trailer with a Polaris ATV. The trailer came loose and hit the van that was stopped for construction.

The three injured people were in the Ford. Driver Jacquelyn Dutcher, 27, of Chesterton, Indiana was treated and released for head and arm injuries. Passenger Julie Farmer, 29, of Hinton, was treated and released for a head injury.

A 5-year-old Hinton boy who was also a passenger in the Ford was admitted in good condition to a local hospital, according to the collision report. His name was not released because of his age.

Troopers say there were four juveniles in the van driven by Albert Wagner of Yukon, but no one in that vehicle was injured.
