SBA Disaster Assistance Available To Tulsa County Tornado Victims

Low-interest federal disaster loans are available to businesses and residents affected by the tornadoes in Tulsa County March 25, according to a release from Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin's office. The Small Business Administration loads are also available in Canadian, Creek, Grady, McClain, Oklahoma, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Pottawatomie, Rogers, Wagoner and Washington counties.

“This most recent storm was devastating to many families and businesses,” said Fallin. “I'm glad the SBA recognized the need to step-up and help the recovery effort. This disaster assistance will provide some much-needed help to families and businesses that are working to rebuild and recover.”

Four people were killed and 26 required hospitalization in the storms March 25-26 in Oklahoma. Assessments show 1,047 homes and business were damaged.

Loans of up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged real estate, machinery and other business assets are possible. The SBA can also lend fund to homeowners and businesses to help with improvements to

Beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, SBA representatives will be on-hand in Sand Springs to answer questions about SBA's disaster loan program, explain the application process and help each individual complete their application. No appointment is necessary.

It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
