Sand Springs police released body camera video of a fatal officer-involved shooting over the weekend. The department also released 911 calls that lead up to the shooting.

The man who was shot was 66-year-old Donald Allen. The officer who shot him was Brian Barnett.

Police said Allen's aggressive behavior gave officers no choice but to shoot after threatening to kill officers and ultimately charging out of his home with his gun raised.

"We just heard gunshots and I think he's in the back yard," the 911 caller said.

Officers were dispatched to the home after multiple 911 calls came in.

When police arrived, Allen went back into his house.

As police approached, officers talked to him through his back patio door. They told him to drop his gun and that's when he threatened the officers.

Video shows they decided to back off after the threat.

"Don't shut the door. Sir you're about to get shot man,” the officer warns on the video.

Allen threatens saying, “If I have to I'll kill you.”

Body camera footage from another responding officer shows the the officers pull back and start surrounding Allen's home.

The body camera of the officer who fired the fatal shots apparently stopped working, but police don't know why.

In addition to the video and other 911 calls, police released a recorded conversation between Allen's wife and a mental health resource officer who attempted to get Allen on the phone.

Soon after the conversation began, yelling and the sound of gun shots can be heard.

Family members said Allen only recently bought the gun he had.

Police have taken weapons away from Allen in the past because of his mental condition; most of the time he handed them over willingly.

Two officers are on administrative leave - the officer closest to the scene when the shooting happened and the officer who fired the shots.

The district attorney will decide if any charges will be filed against Barnett.
