A native Tulsan who has produced over 100 episodes of CSI:New York and wrote the script for the movie "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" is back, this time as the executive producer of a new show on the Tulsa CW.

It's called "The Messengers" and it premieres Friday.

I talked with Trey Callaway about what you can expect from "The Messengers."

There's no way around it - the man who's written more than a dozen TV pilots since 2000 - is pumped up about his new show.

"I hope that all of my fellow native Tulsans and all of my fellow Jenks Trojans in particular will join us for this ride. I think it's going to be very satisfying," said Trey Callaway.

"The Messengers" follows the story of a group of strangers, and someone known as The Man, brought together by a mysterious, cosmic crash landing.

It's loosely based on Apocalyptic events described in the book of Revelation in the Bible, but Callaway says it's not a religious show.

"When times are really tough, we have to really dig deep and find faith in ourselves sometimes. Its about how we have to try and find faith in other people, even if they're total strangers. And for the long run, may it be ten seasons from now, its about the fight to find faith and power in something far greater than ourselves," said Trey Callaway.

"It also has a high level of heart and hope at its center, which I think comes at a good time right now."

"The Messengers" pilot episode airs Friday at 8 p.m. on Tulsa's CW followed by News On 6 at 9.
