In a recent study, Forbes listed Oklahoma City and Tulsa among the top 20 most affordable cities in the United States.

Oklahoma City was ranked 4th on the list.

Median Family Income: $61,400

Q4 2014 median sales price: $139,000

Housing affordable at median family income: 77.3 %

Cost Below National Average: Groceries: 10.1 %; Utilities: 10.1 %; Transportation: 2.1 %; Health: 6.0 %; Misc.: 7.7 %

And Tulsa came in 18th among the top 20 most affordable cities.

Median Family Income: $59,200

Q4 2014 median sales price: $150,000

Housing affordable at median family income: 76.2 %

Cost Below National Average: Groceries: 8.4 %; Utilities: 2.7 %; Transportation: 1.1 %; Health: 4.1 %; Misc.: 0.4 %

Birmingham, Alabama, takes the top spot of the list.
