High Water Closes Over A Dozen Oklahoma Highways

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says at least 15 highways have been closed across the state due to high water from flooding. 

ODOT says those highways are located in central, south central, northeast and southeast Oklahoma.

Highways closed include:

• Cherokee County - Highway 80 is closed about four miles west of Hulbert between Highway 51 and Highway 62.
• Leflore County - Highway 270 is closed just south of the junction with Highway 271 between Wister and Heavener
• Okmulgee County - Highway 16 is closed north and south of Beggs.
• Pittsburg County - Highway 31 is closed from 270 jct to Haywood and to Highway 31A.
• Pittsburg County - Highway 63 is closed from Haileyville to Kiowa.
• Pittsburg County - Highway 270 is closed from west of the Indian Nation Turnpike to Arpealer
• Pittsburg County - Highway 69B is closed from McAlester north to Highway 113
• Tulsa County - Highway 20 is closed between Highway 11 and Harvard.

In Broken Arrow, the city says two roads are closed because of damage.  

• Albany Street - between County Line Road and South 209th East Avenue
• 9th Street - between Natchez Street and 131st Street

With rainfall amounts of three to six inches across eastern Oklahoma, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says a many of its lakes in the eastern half of the state are full.
