The Kansas Attorney General's Office is taking over a case connected with the shooting of an Oologah police officer.

While formal charges have not yet been filed yet, the AG's office says it will handle any prosecution of 22-year-old Alex Garcia.

Police say Garcia, 23-year-old Cesar Rios and 20-year-old Roxanne Mendoza opened fire during a chase that started in Talala. Oologah Officer Charles Neil was grazed by one of the bullets.

The Attorney General's office says it will not handle any prosecution of Rios or Mendoza.

They were arrested soon after crossing the state line into Kansas on Thursday.

But, police say Garcia car-jacked an elderly man and shot him in the neck.

He's also accused of shooting at Montgomery County, Kansas deputy, Michael Grimes.

Deputies say they finally tracked Garcia to a home in nearby Liberty yesterday morning where they say he was hiding.
