Tulsa native and Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel has been named American League Pitcher of the Month for the second month in a row.

The Astros star has been ruling the mound all year long and plays a key role in his team's success. "I'm honored,” he said (in an interview with the media). “I didn't expect to win it."

Keuchel has led Houston to the top spot in the AL West, sitting five games ahead of the Angels. Since last year's opening day, he's ranked eighth in ERA, first in CG, 16th in QS and 12th in OPS among MLB starters.

The MLB standout isn't your typical ace. The Astros drafted the former Razorback seventh round in the 2009 draft. Initially, he struggled, but blossomed in the 2014 season, posting a 12-9 record with a 2.93 ERA in 29 starts. He led the league in complete games (5), grounded into double plays (36), ground ball to fly ball rate (1.88) and was named the Gold Glove award winner.

This year, he currently has an ERA of 1.76, 60 Ks and holds a 7-1 record. He's also currently in the running for a spot in the 2015 All-Star game.

At this rate, James Harden doesn't have the only beard to fear in Houston.
