Prison Escapee Leads Tulsa Police On Chase

A Department of Corrections escapee led the Tulsa Police Department on a chase that ended near an elementary school.

According to Captain Steve Odom, just before 1 p.m., TPD was asked to assist on the chase that started near eastbound Interstate 244 and Delaware.

Odom said Timothy George Waggle and an unnamed passenger drove on several highways and roads before stalling in a field near Bell Elementary in the 6300 block of East Admiral.

Waddle has a warrant out of Oklahoma County and a couple local misdemeanor warrants, Odom said.

Police said Waddle is now in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

According to court records, Waggle was convicted in Rogers County in December of 2014 of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after a previous felony conviction, second-degree burglary and driving without a license.

He was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison, to be served at the Lexington Correctional Facility southeast of Norman, before being assigned to the Tulsa County District Community Corrections program and ordered to wear an ankle monitor. He would have been up for parole in May of 2016.

The DOC says he cut off his ankle monitor at some point which made him an escapee.

He was paroled in 2011 while serving a four-year term for second-degree burglary.
