The Tulsa Ballet has begun its largest fundraiser in the history of the company.

The $25 million campaign will help create new ballet productions and broaden the reach of the Tulsa Ballet Center.

This is just the latest in expansion plans at the ballet.

Stacy Christianson is teaching a class of 3, 4, and 5 year olds at Tulsa Ballet's Center for Dance Education; it is Fairytale Ballet Camp.

They are getting their first exposure to movement and classical ballet - it's like ballet's pre-kindergarten.

Down the hall, Pia Russo worked with a class of teens, where more recognizable ballet is going on.

They are getting ready for something coming later in the summer called Point to the Future; students from all over the world will be here for that.

Tulsa Ballet is busy, and in demand according to Colleen Lahti.

"We are busting at the seams. We are having to start to turn people away, we don't have room in our classes for them," she said.

Scott Black, the Managing Director of the Ballet, said they've been fundraising toward a solution - a satellite school.

"It'll be the Hardesty Center for Dance Education located in Broken Arrow, and we break ground for that facility on July 6th," he said.

It will open, he said, next year.

You can find out about classes available in the fall semester and about all that's happening at Tulsa Ballet on their website.
