Homicide Investigation Underway After Man Found Stabbed In Lawton

A man dies after suffering from apparent knife wounds in Lawton Friday night.

Officers responded to a call of an unresponsive male at 1714 SW A Avenue Friday, at approximately 11:20 p.m. Two people were walking down the street when they noticed the victim lying in the driveway. One passer-by called emergency dispatch while the other attempted life saving measures. 

Upon arrival, officers and emergency personnel found a white male on the ground with blood on his clothing and he was unresponsive. Emergency personnel began to perform life saving measures and the victim identified as 36-year-old Keith Wayne Kern was transported to a local hospital. He later died from his injuries by apparent knife wounds.

Kern's body was transported to the Medicals Examiners office in Oklahoma City for autopsy.

Authorities interviewed witnesses and neighbors. There are no suspect details at this time and no one has been arrested.

This is Lawton’s 5th homicide of 2015.
