4-Year-Old Girl Battling Cancer 'Marries' Her Favorite Nurse

A 4-year-old girl battling cancer got to "marry" the man of her dreams, her favorite nurse! Hospital staff members organized a proper ceremony for her, completed with cake, flowers and even bridesmaids.

According to Facebook page Amazing Abby, 4-year-old Abby, who is battling Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, asked her favorite nurse Matt Hickling to marry her, and he said yes!

Hospital staff at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancers in New York, gave Abby a proper ceremony on Thursday. The event was complete with a rose petal aisle and nurses as bridesmaids. Watch a video of the ceremony here. 

Abby’s Prince Charming, Hickling, got all dressed up in a tuxedo t-shirt and scrubs.

“Our patient shyly asked me to marry her. I didn't hesitate to say yes, I got a HUGE hug and we sealed the deal with ring pops being placed on our fingers! We then took a stroll down the hall in our "Just Married" car (well I pushed) and headed back into the room for cake and photos. This is when Dr. Lauren Silverman helped our patient slam cake right in my face,” Hickling posted on his Facebook account. "Our patient stated 'this is the best day ever' while hoping around in her beautiful dress, veil and phenomenal bouquet prepared by Enchanted Gardens."
