Sand Springs police have arrested a woman suspected of burglarizing homes and using stolen credit cards at area businesses.

Police say Melinda Sue Overton, 38, of Tulsa, has been arrested for three counts of knowingly concealing stolen property, two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and multiple Sand Springs warrants.

A search warrant was served on a residence in Tulsa and property reportedly was recovered from two home burglaries in Sand Springs. Transactions made with credit cards from a third victim also were recovered, according to police. A credit card of a recent Tulsa victim also was recovered, a report says.

SSPD says that a citizen who lives in the 1100 block of North Renaissance saw a suspicious man and woman in a red extended cab truck in the early-morning hours on Sunday. Later that morning, officers say they took two reports about burglary from vehicles on the same block.

A third victim came forward on Sunday also, a report says. A person who lives on the other end of Sand Springs reported credit cards and other items had been stolen. That victim says bank records show someone fraudulently used the stolen card at Walmart and QuikTrip in Sand Springs.

Officers obtained still photos of a man and woman purchasing items with the victims credit card and were able to identify Overton. Police say the red truck was at a Tulsa address listed for Overton.

The search warrant was executed by Tulsa police and reportedly turned up evidence.

SSPD detectives are investigating others in these alleged crimes and say further arrests should be made.
