New Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Deborah Gist has already brought in some different ways of doing business as the 2015-16 school year gets underway.

Gist, who is very active on social media, is holding a Twitter Town Hall two days before the start of school.

She made another big change to the back-to-school process with an "un-convocation" video to replace the annual meeting between administration and teaching staff. In previous administrations, the convocations had been known to last several hours. Gist said in meeting the TPS teaching staff, she got the message that they'd rather be spending that time in the classroom preparing for the new school year.

She shared a YouTube video to celebrate the start of the year with an un-convocation: a brief message to staff followed by a group dance to Silento's Watch Me - also known as the "Whip/Nae Nae" song.

Her final message to teachers before the dance begins:

"I'm looking forward to having an awesome year together," Gist said. "We have the best jobs in the world because we change lives every day, so it's going to be a lot of fun."

We clipped the dance at the end of the message and posted it in this story, or you can watch The Entire Video On YouTube.
