A former Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy Warren Crittenden walked a courtroom Thursday morning in shackles, but will walk out of jail a free man.

The Tulsa County District Attorney's Office dismissed a first-degree murder charge against Crittenden this week.  He was charged with the murder of Michael Jones.  Jones was killed at a Super 8 motel near 31st and Memorial in January.

Crittenden was seen on surveillance video standing outside Jones' motel room while others went inside. Two other men are still charged with the murder and Warren Crittenden is now the star witness against them.

Crittenden always said he was forced to be at the motel that night against his will.  His attorney say he's relieved the DA finally acknowledges that's true.

Because he is a material witness in this case, Crittenden must wear a GPS monitor and take random drug tests.
