Jennings has started a  petition to get insurance companies to cover mammograms for women age 30 and up.

Jennings's wife, Kristen was 32 when she felt a lump in her breast, but didn't get a mammogram because insurance wouldn't cover it.  She died of breast cancer years later.

Jennings says he hopes Senator Lankford will bring his petition to Congress.

"They respected everything that I had to say, so I believe we're on the right track. I believe Lankford will pick this up," said Joseph Jennings.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation says out of 100,000 women, ages 30 to 34, only 25 will develop breast cancer.
