A cold front sweeping across Kansas could bring some severe storms to northeastern Oklahoma.

News On 6 meteorologist Stacia Knight said the cluster of storms is moving southward and could be in our area before midnight.

She said the storms have yet to show any sign of weakening and could bring high winds and hail.

Knight said there could be widespread showers and storms around 3:00 Friday morning and might stay around until 6 a.m.

“This is going to be a loud noisemaker, a lot of lightning, a lot of thunder involved. Some gusty winds and some large hail possible with this,” she said.

Along with the chance of storms, the cold front means you might want a jacket for the morning, as Knight says temperatures will be in the mid-60 for Friday morning along with a northeast breeze.

By the afternoon, Knight says daytime highs are expected to be in the upper 70.

The cooler temperatures are expected to stay around for much of the weekend, with Saturday morning starting off in the low 50s and afternoon highs in the low 70s.
