Woman's Husband Calls Tulsa Police After Hit-And-Run Wreck
TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa Police have a woman in custody after a hit-and-run wreck near 41st and Memorial. Police say Rachel Simmons crashed into a vehicle parked outside a Bill Knight Collision Repair Center around 4:30 Sunday.
Officers said Simmons was driving a Jeep southbound on Memorial when she lost control and went off the road. Her Jeep flipped and crashed into a car parked outside the repair shop.
The 28-year-old Tulsa woman then apparently left the scene.
Police found her when her husband called in a short time later to say his wife was intoxicated and just wrecked her vehicle, according to police records. When police made contact with them, they say Simmons was intoxicated and had scrapes and bruises. She also had keys to the wrecked Jeep in her purse, according to police.
She was booked on complaints of hit and run, driving under the influence and jaywalking.
