An 11-year-old Collinsville boy hurt in a wreck near the Oologah dam has died of his injuries. He's the second person to die from the wreck caused by a combination of alcohol and speeding on a curve, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Around 4 p.m. Saturday, witnesses told investigators they saw a Pontiac Firebird speeding down Highway 88. The driver lost control on a curve, and the car rolled down an embankment. After flipping end over end down the embankment, it fell off a cliff, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Andy Floyd.

Floyd said he was surprised anyone could survive the terrible crash.

"Once we come down here we could smell the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from the car," said Trooper Andy Floyd.

A female passenger, Angela Brown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were two young boys in the car, one 6 and one 11. The 6 year old is said to be stable at a Tulsa hospital.

The driver of the car, 34-year-old Eric Coager, is in serious condition with head and other injuries.

Troopers say there have been several accidents in recent weeks on Highway 88 over the Oologah dam due to people driving the curve too fast. But none of them so far has been as serious as this one.
